I like the Japanese iris. They have a larger, more wide open flower than the bearded iris, and are beardless. The falls (the lower petals) are much larger than the standards (upper petals). I love the watercolor tintings, and the veining that is visible, adding to the visual texture. Even with their big splashy petals, they are delicate.

I love the veining also! Gorgeous! These almost look like a watercolor painting.
The splash of yellow is a great contrast to the lavender. I also love how you capture the pieces of the whole...makes the flower itself seem so much more impressive.
